There are already various furniture known which have at least one furniture leg, in which furniture leg is provided for adjusting the furniture leg length and oriented in furniture leg longitudinal direction spindle drive a height adjustment. So you already know work tables that have a table top as a work surface, which is supported on both narrow sides of the table top by a respective furniture leg. In contrast, accordingly telescoping gas spring units are less well known and possibly also expensive to design and manufacture.
It is therefore an object to provide a gas spring unit of the type mentioned above, which is characterized by a comparatively long spring travel and their design and manufacture yet should not be associated with excessive effort.
In addition, the object is to provide a piece of furniture of the type mentioned above, the height and in particular the working height over a comparatively long travel even with little effort is variable, if the furniture carries more loads.
These objects are achieved by a gas spring unit according to the features of patent claim 1 and by a furniture according to the features of claim 10.
The inventive gas spring unit has two piston rods, which are retractable from opposite starting positions in the direction of each other in their associated gas pressure chamber. Since the inventive gas spring unit has two piston rods which exert their compressive forces in opposite directions, add the spring travel of the piston rods to a relatively long travel of the gas spring unit. Since the inventive gas spring unit does not require the telescoping of the piston rods, the inventive gas spring unit is relatively simple in construction and manufacturing.
It is possible that the piston rods of the novel gas spring unit is associated with a common gas pressure pipe or a common gas pressure chamber. It is also possible that acts on the side facing away from the piston rod sides of the piston the same volume of gas.
Preferably, however, an embodiment according to the invention, wherein the gas spring unit has two gas springs whose gas pressure chambers are rigidly connected together at least in the direction of movement of the piston rods of these gas springs. In this preferred embodiment of the inventive gas spring unit two per se conventional gas springs are connected together so that the on both sides of the gas spring unit above piston rods from opposite starting positions in the direction of each other in the respective associated gas pressure chamber are retracted.
Thus, the inventive gas spring unit in the pressure position of the gas springs is comparatively compact and short, it is particularly advantageous if the gas pressure chambers of the gas springs are arranged side by side and connected to each other and if the piston rods in their initial positions on opposite sides on their assigned Protrude gas pressure chamber.
In order to connect two per se conventional gas springs to the inventive gas spring unit with each other, it is advantageous if the gas springs are frontally held between two gas pressure chamber connectors. In this embodiment, the gas springs are practically clamped between two gas pressure chamber connectors.
A particularly simple and expedient embodiment according to the invention provides that the gas pressure chamber connectors are designed plate-shaped.
Thus, the pressurized gas springs, the gas pressure chamber connector can not spread so that the gas springs laterally escape to the outside, it is expedient if the gas pressure chamber connectors are connected to each other via at least one connecting rod.
In this case, a preferred embodiment according to the invention that the gas pressure chamber connectors are connected to each other via two connecting rods, which are arranged on opposite longitudinal sides of the gas spring unit.
A preferred embodiment according to the invention provides that each gas spring connector is bolted to one of the gas springs and that on the piston rod facing away from the end face of the gas pressure chamber of this gas spring at least one threaded opening and / or at least one threaded rod for a screw with the Gas pressure chamber connector is provided. The usual gas springs have regularly on their side facing away from the piston rod end a threaded rod or preferably a threaded opening. In the furniture of the type mentioned above, the inventive solution is that the gas spring unit is formed according to at least one of the embodiments described above.

In Fig. 1, a furniture 1 is shown.
